My thoughts were drawn today,
while in the quiet, of a time in my life when our Lord had asked me if I would visit the lonely.
I said yes and for the next 4 years
I visited ones that He led me to
in a nursing home in my city.
A few of them gave their hearts to Him before they left this earth and I am forever grateful that He called them to Himself and asked me to be His hands, His feet.
When I visited I have to tell you, that there were sights that were not always so pretty or clean. There were a few floors in this home for the Aged, and it seemed like, as you went to the upper levels, the care they received wasn't as good.
This saddened me, and it just seemed like the care for their bodies and souls were so lacking.
Visits from family members were often few and far between and some had no family that would come and see them.
I was at a friends home one day back then, and I was looking at some tracts that I loved to read,
and as I read one...it spoke of visiting the elderly and how sometimes some may appear as if they haven't been taking care of themselves. There was either a photo or something said about dirt under their fingernails ....it went on to say that whatever you do to the least of these, that you did unto Me.
I have to tell you that I dropped to my knees in that moment and wept and wept because the Lord spoke by His Spirit into the depths of my heart. It is He that is hidden underneath those sad eyes, the dirty fingernails, the lonely, the broken.
What a privilege it was He had given me to take His love & light to those dark, lonely places...
and to bring His Word, love & hope. I brought my Bible with me and read to the ones who would open their hearts to hear His Word, and if not, just to be there and love them right where they were.
I heard this song today, not even a few hours after God had reminded me of that moment and how He told me that it was Him I was really visiting and caring for...
Jesus
When we love the least
When we love the weak
When we love these
We love
Jesus
Jesus brings a meal for tips
Jesus trying hard to quit
Jesus
raising two alone
Jesus drives a heavy load
When we love the
least
When we love the weak
When we love these
We love
Jesus
Jesus with worn wrinkled hands
Jesus sows a patch of
land
Jesus hides a tattooed arm
Jesus keeping dinner
warm
Jesus waves a foreign flag
Jesus wrings a washing
rag
Jesus
leans on prison bars
Jesus swinging in my yard

Thank you Jesus for loving each one of us, seeking us out, and sending your own to bring Your love...
You love us that much.

What a Friend, such a Friend
When we lift up our eyes to Him...
We are reminded of just how dear of a Friend He really is.
ALL our sins and griefs to bear ..
What a PRIVILEGE
it is to carry
E V E R Y T H I N G
to God in prayer.
Are you struggling with any of these things ...
C O M E ...
and take them to the Lord
in prayer.
This was a card I had bought many years ago...
just because I loved what it said,
and how beautiful it was.
I framed it, and through the years it became lost among the shuffle,
until I found it again, or perhaps, it found me....
I pinned it on my memory board
and hung this beautiful cross on it, which was given
to me by a dear friend.
The cross was actually a book marker but it has found its home here...that I might be reminded of its meaning daily. Too beautiful to be tucked away in a book.
When my Lord recently lifted my eyes to Him in a time of pain,
my eyes and the eyes of my heart fell upon this card once again,
He whispered about the needless pain that I bear
and the peace that I forfeit..
when I do not c a r r y everything to Him in prayer.
O Lamb of God I come...I come

He's thinking of me...He's thinking of you
How often You are thinking of me...
Your thoughts of me number even more than the grains of sand...
too many to count.
I can't help but experience the touch of those thoughts upon my life.
Your thoughts of me enter into my moments here and we meet....
and I am once again, overwhelmed
by Your love, Your kindnesses,
Your caring heart towards me.
Thank You, thank You, thank You, my Lord.

Psalm 139:17, 18
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand

His Garden
You are here,
in the garden of my heart...
cultivating,
planting seed,

and i give You thanks.
